Trev Alberts is an American athletic administrator and former professional football player.
Early Life and Football Career: He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and played college football at the University%20of%20Nebraska, where he was a highly decorated linebacker. Alberts won the Dick%20Butkus%20Award in 1993 as the nation's top linebacker. He was then drafted fifth overall in the 1994 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts.
Transition to Broadcasting and Administration: After his brief NFL career ended due to injury, Alberts transitioned into broadcasting. He worked as a college football analyst for ESPN. Later, he moved into athletic administration.
Athletic Director Roles: Alberts served as the athletic director at the University%20of%20Nebraska%20Omaha from 2009 to 2021, where he oversaw the school's transition to Division I athletics and the discontinuation of the football and wrestling programs.
